I Don’t Know What I’m Doing!

Really, it’s almost comical how badly I’m navigating this whole self-publishing a novel journey. Per the suggestion of another self-publisher, months ago, she said,
“Pick a date, at least two months from now and that will be your release date.”

So I did. I picked a date in May. A random Tuesday. And made that my goal. So I’m sitting here, twiddling my thumbs, making last pass edits from the proofreader and realize, I need to get connected with a promo group! You, know, to help me get the word out on Level Me Up.

Well, let me tell you. You can’t just sign up to work with a publicity company two weeks before you release your book and expect them to be like, “Yes! We can scrounge up 20-30 bloggers to read and share your book less than 15 days before you release it!”.

So, I contacted several companies. That’s how I started working with Enticing Journey. They suggested I do a cover reveal to drum up interest and then to push my release day a few weeks to give them time to gather the bloggers.

Look, when the professionals tell you it’s best to do “A”…don’t just ignore them. Listen.

So yeah…I don’t know what I’m doing.
